Gatesway Stereo 80 - Power supply

Be best to see if someone has a Gatesway 80 schematic. The center terminal strip could be for power, but also could be for speakers. Even if it was for power, the question would be what goes to what.

You don't want to let the magic smoke escape! :'(

Well I'd have to say from looking at the first picture, it looks a lot like a teenager's high school science fair project, gone bad.

However, In that case, I'll take the magic blue smoke. ;D

But yeah I agree, see if you can get ahold of the schematic diagrams.

If that's the same vintage mine is (and by the looks of the pictures it is) the power supply, an outboard unit that sits in a rack, connects via the JONES CONNECTOR underneath the console. The first picture shows the back of the connector sitting at the top right. When you acquired the console it should have come with the Power Supply & Interconnect Cable.

I once took care of one of these things (they ate electrolytics) & mine also had a multi-pin connector that plugged into the console. The power supply did not go on a terminal strip.

Re: Gatesway Stereo 80 - Power supply - Inner transformers

From 5 Stereo 80 that were laying on the store room floor I think I've picked the most tricky one ::)

Here's a new detailed picture with what I suppose to be what it's written on it. Is the legend I've made correct?

Regarding the 27 pin Jones socket I have a long cable loom with the exact terminal on the other side when connected to the console.

Harris Stereo 80 power supply - Update

As someone said regarding this matter: The Power supply socket on my console is a Jones 27 pin one. Some had a 6 pin ones.
What a complicated matter...
To those who have knowledge regarding that console: Why has the power connector 27 pins and not 6 as other Gatesway consoles? Will I be able to build a power supply? :'(

I am late in this thread I know, but is the console Blue-White or Grey White in color? The Blue-White did use an interconnect cable with I think 27 pin Jones connectors. I have an older Gray/Wht Stereo 80 upstairs at the shop, I seem to recall it just being an interconnect cable with spade lugs. I should have a print for it so if you are still looking for it let me know and I will search for it.

Never too late to respond :D

Yeap... it's the blue-white one.
Thanks!

I have the book here, have taken some photos of the connection tables. I need to scan it to a .pdf someday. I can e-mail them to you off the list if you like. info at radiolanes.com
