Start ups take time to develop and mature. Free concerts go a long way to creating awareness and that all adds to potential numbers. Are they writing orders? Yes!
But making money? The long term bet says it will take 2-3 years before Gator really takes off, but for a new station it’s doing ok..

the Gator will be okay? How many people were at the August 12th concert?

Yes, the panhandlers are quite annoying already. ANother arguement for that Jax only board.
I am sure the station is making some kind of money, but agreed that it takes time to really know for sure.
And just to put my two cents in on the Morning Show thing....I really like the new station, but is it me or is Dallas and Dixie sounding an awful lot like Shotgun and Dee? Maybe its just me, but with the exception of the traffic guy doing traffic, its sounding a lot like the Shotgun and Dee show on Rooster..
I am sure the station is making some kind of money, but agreed that it takes time to really know for sure.

Things change in business and that's normal. Maybe the fair buyer was negotiating and got what she really wanted, a free show!

I’ve spent time listening to the country stations. My guess is the average listener (most) would say they all sound similar, except WROO and QIk have more commercials. WGNE needs to stand out from the rest and their free concerts are good bet! Start ups are fun!WGNE has no place to go but up and now is when they must be bold by thinking out of the box and risk failure.
If QIK has a weakness, it’s that they have everything to lose and will be less willing to take chances. Read “Marketing Warfare” & “Positioning”
