GATOR Radio Network ?

I hear alot of promo's saying 740 is the home of the GATORS, are they off the 50KW 540 this year? That would be suprising that they'd give up that kind of broad area coverage. Gatorzone.com still has it at 540 AM, but it also says this year they'll be on WSJZ 99.5 (it's 95.9 to be correct) so I question the accuracy.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Gators were on 740 instead of 540 this season. Clear Channel wants to move as much of their sports programming as possible off of WFLF to WYGM. I'll have a definite answer tomorrow. I'll post it here and on www.cflradio.net

740 drops their power quite a bit at sunset, and WSJZ (95.9, not 99.5 as stated on the Gatorzone site) is hit/miss north of Melbourne. Gatorzone says 1300AM WMEL has the Gator football season, but by my experience it's a 50/50 chance there's dead air at that location on the dial.

Good calls Japman...you are right on. WSJZ will be moving their tower a bit north and higher up so everyone in Brevard (except Titusville) should get it much better.

Here's the official word from CC.
540 WFLA will carry the FLORIDA GATORS

740 The Game will carry UCF and the JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

WTKS will once again be the home of the Tampa Bay Bucs this season

I'll have a full report on where you can listen to football this season on
www.cflradio.net today.

Thanks for the confirmations. I'm guessing based off web searches Sunny 105.9 still will carry the Dolphins, 1080 WHOO has FSU. I'm all covered for football! Wait ... what about NASCAR --- no source in O'town.

AM-1300 WMEL carries NASCAR races on the weekends and several NASCAR talk shows Monday through Thursday in the 7pm hour. You can hear WMEL in Brevard, but good luck in Orlando (maybe with a REALLY good radio), and definitely not in Tampa.
