Gators vs. Seminoles Radio Network

Ten or fifteen years ago, odds were good that in most major Florida markets, the best AM signal would carry the University of Florida football games, while number two would carry Florida State, or vice versa. But while the Gators have kept themselves on plum signals (540 in Orlando, 620 in Tampa, etc.), it seems as if FSU's affiliate quality has fallen off in recent years. Why?
 
Gators Radio is run by Clear Channel.
Noles Radio is run by Host Communications.

Even though both have Clear Channel flagships (Gators on JAX's WFXJ-AM and Noles on WTNT-FM/WNLS-AM), the Gator Network is a Clear Channel property.

The growth of the FSU Basketball program has also affected te network because clearing basketball games is harder.
 
Take some of those listings with a grain of salt....WDCF Dade City has been a spanish station since last summer.....WZHR is a pay for play gospel, with one or two Noles games so far....

Out of the South Florida (Miami to Palm Beach) stations, 640 WMEN (listed as WJNA) is the one that airs everything basically. 850 WFTL airs the Noles only when FAU conflicts on 640 as 850 also airs the Gators. I have heard some games show up on ISP stations like 770 WWCN in Fort Myers which I heard the FSU-VT game on. The ESPN Florida trio of 1470 WHBO in Tampa, 1080 WHOO in Orlando, and 1060 WIXC in Brevard County all aired mostly every game to those markets.
