Gavin MacLeod (Mary Tyler Moore Show)

Gavin MacLeod has died. Great comic actor on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. He played Murray. What an excellent show with a great ensemble cast. He later went on to star as the Captain of the "Love Boat". Both were memorable roles, but I preferred his character on Mary Tyler Moore. That era had some top notch comedies...

Yes, one of the principle players on MTM for its entire run. The Love Boat run was also impressive, though agreed he was at his best with Mary.

Nonogenarians Ed Asner and Betty White are the last living members of The Mary Tyler Moore Show cast.

It is funny how people remember these stars based on their age. To me it was MTM, but for those a decade younger it was Love Boat. Either way he was a tv star in the end.

Not quite. Joyce Bulifant, Gavin's wife Marie on the show, is still with us (at 83 years old).
But as for Gavin, the Love Boat has sailed for the last time on Earth and has crossed into heavenly waters. May he forever RIP.

Also John Amos, who wasn't on the show very long.

This is sad news because i liked him a lot in his two biggest roles.

He also played a villain on "The Andy Griffith Show" who thought he'd get away with his deeds because Andy didn't have a gun. "But my deputies do!"
