Gaydos Replaced?

What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is a goin' on at "Arizona's Number One News and Talk Station" **, KT'R-FM? Larry Gaydos, who normally rolls 7-10, 7-10, 7-10, was pre-empted Thursday night by a basketball game. Not the Suns, but the crappy Sun Devils. Seems Sports Parking Lot 6~Twenty was carrying the Suns; Sports Parking Lot 8~Sixty was sold by TMISU; and Lumberyard 14~Forty didn't want to use their 52 watts of nighttime pow-pow-power. Nurse Jeff and I thought KT'R-FM was on a mission with their political coverage this year. Bubba was shoveling it at ASU, while the Missus & Obamamama were pandering for votes in el Lay. Pretty good material for Gaydos, but no could do as the Sun Devils sucked whatever machismo was left out of his time slot. Thanks a lot, Master Blogger. You told us the FM was for news and talk and the AM for sports. Another lie.

ASU Basketball on radio

After that win over U of A, maybe ASU thought there would be a spike of interest in their product, therefore whatever games cannot be aired on 620 will be moved to 92.3 instead of 960 (where they've been farming out the games prior to this). Now that they've come down to earth (and hard after UCLA) once again, who knows where the next non-620 games will air.

Speaking of sports play-by-play, Arena Football's Rattlers are coming back and since 860 is out of the picture, who will be carrying them from now on? Their website still shows "ESPN Radio 860," but I think that might be dated. AFL's fan base is not large enough to have all the games on the "major league sports station" in town.

TMISU have too many lucrative sports contracts to stuff onto one station. Since they sold 860, they can either put the sports overflow on 92.3 or 98.7. Since news/talk is primarily "a guy thing," they must feel that they won't lose audience by putting sports on KTAR-FM instead of The Peak.

Mission? TMISU? Oh, I get it. ;D

...this thread is misnamed. It's about Gaydos being *pre-empted* rather than replaced. Y'all had me thinking there really was a God after all ;-) ...

That explains GAYdos being on with mcCHEESEY the other day. He had no place to ooze machismo, so he did it on Mac, er, on mcCHEESEY's show.
