GCN shutting down

Here is more this time from Alex Jones directly and his legal issues. The issue with this one was that the family members of the Sandy Hook victims knew that Alex Jones team were on YouTube at that time when he made the rants. The family members that sued Alex Jones had no idea his show was on GCN and their affiliates at that time.

Stephan is also 77, so it would be understandable if he was wanting to work less.

It appears that USA Radio Networks, who became the syndicator of Good Day in 2022, was being distributed by GCN.

It looks like the GCN shutdown may have had an effect on USA News (formerly USA Radio News):

USA Radio News - Talk Media Network

MPORTANT UPDATE: Those with operational control of USA Radio News have decided to shut down the service effective Friday, June 14th, 2024 @ 11:59 pm.

Indeed, USA Radio News is no more (the USA Radio network apparently still exists, even though there's next to nothing left).

From InsideRadio:
Some affiliates were apparently in the dark about the change, with Hometown Multimedia classic hits WCTR Chestertown, MD (1530) notifying Inside Radio that hourly newscasts were not available as of this past weekend.

I noticed Cumulus-owned WFAS 1230 White Plains NY is running Fox News Radio at the top of the hour now, no longer USA Radio News.

I have no idea how USA Radio News was able to call itself news with a straight face. It stole clips from TV networks or had someone simply read wire copy for some stories as if they were at the White House or Capitol when they were not.

Other times, the anchors incredibly slanted their stories for conservative listeners. Fox News Radio, SRN and Townhall are used by conservative talk and religion stations and their story selection reflects this. But their newscasts aren't slanted like USA newscasts were.

USA Radio News was very slanted.
I emailed their longtime anchor after I heard him describe the Jan. 6 hearings as "Made for TV hearings."
I chastised him for reportage that was highly partisan and not journalistic. And that he wasn't working for a real news operation.

It has returned.

Dr. Pressman is gone, but Hickey and their retail supplement business, Invite Health, still exists. And they are still buying time on radio stations in NYC and elsewhere.
No but who’s buys any of the stuff that’s being sold on the infomercials they are paying for. Like I can’t imagine many people are buying the magic pills or whatever is being sold.

That's a rhetorical question. If no one was buying, then how would they pay for all that radio time on multiple NYC-area stations?

Same for Dr. Lederman and his hour-long, monotone, egotistical dronefests...I meant his sales pitches...no, I meant his informative infomercials, in spite of dubious claims about the effectiveness of his cancer treatments.

And those are two examples. Hasn't changed for decades and there's no sign it will change anytime soon.

If he’s actually claiming what he’s selling will treat cancer, he needs to be reported, just like anyone else claiming to treat cancer by selling something.
