Wake up people, lets start some decent topics and get some good replys here. There are very few topics ever started here, and when they are, they are often ignored, im not just talking about my posts either, but anyone and everyone who posts anything on this board. Hip Hop must be really declining, or else all the discussion is on the Urban board...... Something aint right... :-\ nobody is even discussing the resurgence of R&B, or the come back of Dance and Pop.

I'm glad you brought this up. It certainly does seem Dance is making a noteworthy comeback. Hip-hop in general does seem to be changing, not declining. Hip-hop/R&B/Dance is starting to all blend together now and that's a good sign.

Speaking of great R&B/Hip-Hop/Dance, there is an awesome remix of Mary J Blige's "Just Fine" set to the beat of "Treat Em Right" by Chubb Rock.

But if you want to break it down, Hip-hop by itself does seem to be going underground. Artists like Common, Kanye, Talib Kweli are what I consider the modern heart and soul of Hip-hop. The bling bling, gang bangin rap is the "Glam Rock" of our time. Most of the product getting rotation can be considered Pop or Hip-Pop with a dance vibe. Take "The Anthem" by Pitbull. It's a hip-hop/dance track that is hard to pass by.

This is only my point of view, doesn't mean I'm right or wrong, it's just the way I see it. Criticism and compliments are certainly welcome.

Its not that its just that 90% of this board hate Rhythmic stations. Look at all the longest threads, all about some good time oldies format in the low 2's in the ratings. Buncha old timers wondering why radio aint what it was in the 40's

Well, I may not especially like hard Gangsta Rap, I do like upbeat Urban party songs, R&B, and Dance-POP.... So yeah, I guess im a rhythmic station fan,,,, but I still dont like the stations that play nothing but Rap...AKA Urban Clones..... I think Rhythmics should be more like Power 96 in Miami, and even WILD 94.9 San Francisco, and B-96 Chicago are pretty good these days. There are a handful of other notable mentions, like 104.3 Hit FM in El Paso and Jamz 96.3 Albany.
