Geico Announcer Dropped Following Tea Party Flap

Apparently, the person who does the voiceover tag at the end of Geico commercials did not take kindly to what FreedomWorks is doing, so he left a voicemail message. Eventually, his cell phone number was posted on a website, and Geico was flooded with phone calls.

This week, the voice actor says that Geico has dropped him from the campaign, insisting they were "bullied" into letting him go.

So easy a caveman can do it, huh?

From what I can glean from various news stories, he did not just leave "a voicemail message" but left many of them. Basically harassment. However, he was busted because he left his actual name and phone number for a call back on the last one! What a dope! By the way, that message is floating around on the internet. Basically the guy sounds like a nutbag, ::)

As Whitney Houston says: "crack is wack!" ;D

For some reason people thing that freedom of speech comes with no responsibility. Granted, you can say what you want in this country without worry on reprisals from the government. However, that does not mean you can say what you want, embarass your employer and keep your job. The first amendment does not cover that. All freedoms come with responsibility.
