I'll repeat something I put on the George Lopez
thread re the "Caveman" show. If they show the
locals as Southern stereotypes and the cavemen
as the intelligent ones, then I hope WSB does
pre-empt it. If they show Atlanta as the hip,
thriving city that it is, with plenty of educated,
upscale people, I can probably live with the show
(and maybe the people in Atlanta can, too). As
it is, I don't even like the commercials.
BTW, has everyone forgotten that "Matlock" also
took place in Atlanta and aired there first on WXIA,
then on WSB? Of course, Andy Griffith gives Southerners
a good name with the common-sense characters he
usually plays in series (although I like him better as a
bad guy in some TV-movies he's done). And "In The
Heat Of The Night" was filmed in nearby Covington, GA,
and showed Carroll O'Connor's true political side (definitely
NOT Archie Bunker).
