NightAire said:I agree something needs to be done with Gen-X, but... country? A 3rd current country station in Tulsa?
Why not move "Chrome-FM" to 106.1 as a Classic Hits format, if it's doing well on 93.5?
(I still say there's an opening in Tulsa for a "Soft" or a "Lite" or an "EZ," but I don't know if such a format could be programmed to pull a young enough demo for advertisers...)

106.1 is a damaged frequency.
Putting KISS-FM right under K-Hits could cause damage if they did a good job with the music. Certainly would cause issues. Kinda funny that Journal is trying to go after Cox and now Clearchannel is going after Journal. Jon Phillips is a better GM than the GM at Journal.

92.1 is mostly CHR now and the relaunch of Kiss would do good now vs a fade format like Genx.

I remember about 20 years ago when everyone wanted a piece of the country pie on the grounds that "you didn't have to do that well to make money with it." Four country stations also isn't as many as Tulsa had in the early 90's. Prior to '94, the following stations did country and covered most, if not all, of Tulsa: 1170, 95.5, 97.1, 98.5, 99.5, and 103.3. So, that was six stations doing country in '93.

Not too long after, maybe another year, 103.3 went 70's hits. And didn't 1170 simulcast 98.5 during this time?
