You could add 103.7 to that list as well with a lot of stuff from the 90's. They sound a lot like the Buzz did 10 years ago. Would be nice to see 93.7 try a 90's format. I've come to become quite fond of the Eagle, and apparently others agree, judging by the latest ratings. We are coming up on 2010 and if you'll recall The Point launched in 2000 with an 80's format, 10 years after the end of the decade.rageradio said:Doubt it... The Buzz is still playing stuff from the 90s. Why would they want two stations playing the same music.

They wouldn't necessarily be playing the same music as The Buzz. Below is the first hour from Louisville's Gen-X, as an example:
2 Unlimited, “Get Ready For This”
Nirvana, “Smells Like Teen Spirit”
Montell Jordan, “This is How We Do it”
No Doubt, “Just A Girl”
Coolio, “1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New)”
EMF, “Unbelievable”
OMC, “How Bizarre”
blink-182, “All The Small Things”
D-Mob, “C’mon and Get My Love”
Sublime, “Santeria”
Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch, “Good Vibrations”
Dave Matthews Band, “Ants Marching”
Culturebeat, “Mr. Vain”
Spin Doctors, “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong”
Jennifer Lopez, ”If You Had My Love”

90s music does not mix well. The decade was very diverse in sound; that's why "alternative" stations started popping up back then. I don't recall hearing Nirvana, Dave Matthews Band or Sublime on CHR. The "Gen X" label is more rock oriented.

sdh483, up here in Dayton, OH., then CHR/Pop WGTZ Z-93(Now Adult Hits Fly 92.9) played Nirvana, DMB, and Sublime. As a 32 year-old male, I want to hear EVERYTHING from the 90s, not just some of it.sdh483 said:stan said:rageradio said:Doubt it... The Buzz is still playing stuff from the 90s. I've heard "Every Morning" on The Point more times in the last month than I ever did when the song charted. Same goes with "Ironic". It's played entirely too much when you hear it three times in one day.
I'd also like to point out that a station doesn't necessarily "mix well" to be successful. Bob in Austin is a train wreck for a format, but consistently ranks well in the market.
