Gen X Station In Wilmington?

Many small markets are picking up the Gen X Music format. Most of the stations play mostly 90s; one or two play 80s and 90s. All of the Gen X stations play a few songs from the early 00s. This format is spreading like wildfire; it seems like there is a new Gen X station cropping up somewhere once a week. Is this just a fad format or will it stick, any thoughts. Could Gen X work in The Port City? I remember we had Will FM but it was 60s through today; not really a Gen X station.
 
Rhythmic Oldies was a fad format and somehow it stuck in Wilmington. I don't think there are more than a handful left in the entire country.
