Gene Burns coming to KNEW / KKSF-AM (910)?

Good news for fans of Mr. Burns (and folks who'd prefer to hear ex-KGO hosts over the air in the Bay Area). What this bodes for the format changes at KNEW/KKSF-AM ("conservative Hot Talk") is up for debate. Will be interested to see what develops when CC makes it official.

Is 910 still changing calls to KKSF and 960 to KNEW? I just heard that CC is reconsidering the changes to KKGN-960. I would have thought that Gene Burns would have gone to 960 if it remains "Green 960"?
 
Clear Channel should move progressive talk to 910 and the current conservative talk to 960. Move the KKGN calls (no one would care because their numbers are abysmal) and they would be 910 ... K-KGN. What comes after "N" ... so, you would really play with the heads over on Hawthorne as people would memorably remember 910-K-KGN.

Glad to hear, but the fact that it's Clear Channel still concerns me. Having Gene on in afternoons would be great. Now, would Clear Channel make a deal to bring Mickey Luckoff over as GM, with an equity position, and have him oversee the "conservative" 960 - as he did KSFO with KGO? That would be a great move for Rothman and Ray T. They then hold onto Malloy, Miller & Rhodes to fill out the schedule.
 
It will be interesting to see if Gene continues to be a registered Democrat.
 
It will take lots of promotion to help people find Burns on knew. I recomend he stage a "Wine and Cheese in" protest till all the KGO listeners tune him in.
