Gene Deckerhoff on Ron & Ian or Big Dog?

How come Gene's deal with the Bucs/Clear Channel doesn't include a proviso requiring him to call in to either Ron & Ian or Duemig at least once a week to review last week's game and preview next week's?

It seems odd considering that the PBP announcers for both the Dolphins and Jaguars are weekly guests on their flagship stations.

they probably have to pay him or else you are right, doesn't make much sense. Unless gene has something against those guys or just 620 in general

Gene is by far THE best PBP man in Sports!

I remember when Gene ( A UF / Gator graduate, by the way) was working for General Foods and working part time @ WTRL- AM 1490, Bradenton... then he came on full time..in the early 1970's...Bo Mitchel who owned WTRL (and WCOA - Pensacola) @ the time was also the then Voice of the FSU Seminoles... I think that that is how Gene got in there in the first place... The rest is called TALENT ... Always a great person...

It is one thing to be handed the baton, it is up to the person to hold on to it.

I have always had respect and Thanks for those who handed it off to me throughout my life.
