Gene Maxwell Gone?!?

I was doing some Detroit radio research and noticed that Gene Maxwell's name was missing from WNIC.com. After checking, I found out that Maxwell was part of the Clear Channel wave of destruction. I left Detroit in 91 but every time I went back I tuned into Gene. He has a great voice and I thought was a good mid-day personality.

Any thoughts/words about this Motown?

If he's gone, then it's a sad day indeed for Detroit radio. I sure hope Detroit rallies around his departure the way they did with Alan Almond. CC learned their lesson the hard way when they let him go. It's too bad...because Gene's a great talent. I see they have Theresa Lucas' name in there covering his shift for now...it sounds like that typical over-researched theory of "only female jocks should work that daypart".
