General Hospital takes 3 days off!

The long running soap opera will only air Monday & Friday this coming week as ABC will air the Wild Card Playoff series between The Tampa Bay Rays and The Texas Rangers. Also, GMA3 will be pre-empted on several West Coast ABC stations this Tue, Wed and Thursday.

None of the WC games will be ratings-grabbers outside their own local markets.

😂 I wouldn't expect the Rangers to be grabbing a lot of eyeballs even down here. Lost to the Mariners 1-0, handing the AL West to the Astros. It's been a serious roller coaster ride over in Arlington this year. I wish them luck, but getting past the Orioles with what we've got would be a very tall order.

Some of this gotta be the writers strike that halted production of scripted shows. At least Disney provided other programming to offset issues over scripted shows having to halt production for some time.

What will get better ratings MLB or GH.
The 3 and 4 p.m. games will be beaten by anything else in their time slots except in the teams' home markets. It doesn't help that one of the teams in those afternoon games is in Canada.

I'm sure MLB was hoping for more marquee teams and players in this postseason, after a regular season that's seen attendance up in all but a couple of cities and TV ratings generally better, but what can you do? Other than the Braves and Dodgers, the teams with national followings and superstars just weren't very good at actually winning games. New York, Chicago, and the Bay Area have no reason to tune in. That spells ratings apocalypse right through the World Series, no matter who gets there.

Except Soap Operas (The genre isn't as popular as it once was

It will be close. I haven't seen the numbers. Have you?

Not even close. This ain't the 1980s when NBC & ABC shared the MLB postseason rights & some games (Mostly on ABC) were on during the day along with soap operas & game shows & did better than everything EXCEPT soap operas & game shows where the games lost out HANDS DOWN

THESE DAYS - The shoe is on the other foot as sports beats soap operas, game shows & even gab fest talk shows

Dems just the facts Jack

Can we get verification of the ratings for the 3 p.m. EST games vs. the normal ratings for the soaps in that time slot? Numbers, please.
