Genesis Leans On Weiner To Help AM Talk Trio

Well, from the outside, it would appear Mr. Maduri has brought in some heavier ammo. Up to this point, has Genesis made any noise in Tampa Bay? What's their track record? Would any of the Genesis stations benefit from an FM signal, if any were available?

August PPM. WWBA .5, WHBO .3, WMGG - (Not even a 0.0)
You tell me.

@rfrus: Let's cut 1470 a little slack - they've restructured their format... again?

Doesn't 820 now call itself a news/talk station hyping the resources of BN9? You'd think that would help their cause, at most.

820 AM is not associated with BN9 in any form. BN9 only has radio partnerships with the Hall Group in Polk Co. and WUSF in Tampa.

1. Fire The Fabulous Sports Babe.

2. Move "Prime Time" to 10AM - 1PM.

3. Stop pre-empting The Scott Van Pelt Show.

4. Drop the Yankees.

5. Drop the god-awful brokered shows on Saturday.

6. Start promoting your station as the station for transplants who don't care about the Bucs, Rays, and Lightning. Focus all of your marketing on being the home of Mike and Mike and Scott Van Pelt in Tampa.

7. Hire some impersonators and start producing promos that mercilessly mock the Lightning's Dave Mischkin and Bobby Taylor and Dave's monotone delivery and Taylor's senile color commentary.

I'd imagine it would be possible to do only one of these two, not both... If Tampa wanted a vanilla sports radio station, one already exists on 1010 AM...

@LiveLocal: Right. I wrote 9, but I meant 10. I was one number off. My bad...
