Geno's Steaks Founder And WPHT Contributor Joey Vento Has Died

http://www.courierpostonline.com/fdcp/?unique=1314184306591

When he was not running the shop at the iconic Geno's Steaks eatery that he founded 45 years ago, he had - most recently - appeared on talk shows on 1210 WPHT, usually on Dom Giordano's program. He even had his own 60-second commentary spots that aired on WPHT - or at least on their online stream during commercial breaks.

Joey Vento was 71. He had suffered a heart attack at his home on Tuesday.

About what? The thousands of people who don't work in that industry who have heart attackes every year?

I always found it funny how he required people to order in English...however, listening to him speak numerous times I found his own grasp of the English language suspect at best.

Oh come on. I suppose he didn't have a PhD in English but, he WAS able to speak pretty good English as far as I'm concerned. Not a bad business man considering he started with $6, got a loan from his father-in-law and how many hundreds of thousands had he personally donated to charity to this date?
