Gentner TS612 control surface

Does anyone have a spare/used user surface for the Gentner TS612? None of the equipment houses I've contacted seem to have any of these left in inventory. Thanks.

Comrex took over service on the TS 612 line. As of a few months ago, they had a decent inventory of the control surfaces.

The surfaces on these are notorious for crapping out. Usually the buttons just quit working. Not Gentner's best effort.

Comrex has discontinued this line in favor of the Stac Hybrid.

According to Comrex the control surfaces for their new STAC phone system are not compatible with the old Gentner TS 612. So, if anyone has an old TS 612 control surface, I'm interested. Thanks again.

Have the soft touch buttons become obsolete?
______________

Comrex told me they sold all of the old TS 612 control surfaces. They also said that a STAC control surface software is not compatible with the Gentner TS 612 hybrid.

Right. The thing that usually fails are the switches themselves.

If Comrex still can get the parts, you could repair the controller yourself by changing out the switches.

If the parts are no longer available, then the TS-612 has hit the end of the line.
______________

I bought replacement switch pads for the TS612 from Comrex a couple of years ago, for $60 apiece.

If they don't stock them anymore,I believe Mike Sandman in Chicago www.sandman.com has a couple of cleaning solutions that are supposed to rejuvenate the conductive surfaces on membrane switches. Have not tried this myself.

Thanks, again, for the info. Had another TS 612 blow up (I never ordered these to begin with) yesterday. Comrex was very accommodating but essentially said I was out of luck because the product is no longer supported and parts no longer available.

You might be able to get a little extra life out of those membrane switches by using a pencil eraser on the contacts and rubbing away some of the carbon buildup.

We use the 612 (have for several years). Usually if its a button problem it takes about an hour to fix. Take the surface apart then take the "rubber pad" out and use some R5 and swab to clean the pcb surface and the back of the buttons.

It will usually work for several months after this fix.
