...and thankyou dear lord for keeping George kickin for so many years so we could hear him sing what the hell we was all going through in life, with that once in a lifetime pure country voice.

You've changed course with a prayer of graditude for the gift of George Jones! Wonderful upbeat way to start moving on from our grief! Til now, I'd been drifting around numbly, nursing a lump in my throat the size of a pink grapefruit. Thanks for posting that little prayer, Scott. I'm feeling a little better now.

yep, not much more to say here. just some old white haired drunk singer from the 40's or something, I guess. he had some weird hit from back then. I heard a clip of on the news, "he stopped loving her, or something". oh well, he must not be all that good, since our country wolf station don't play him. speaking of these strange old folk types, my grandpa was some WWII hero or something, and we all kept separated from him too, as he seemed too old and uncool. he was actually so weird, he built his own house, rebuilt his own engines, and grew his own food. pretty stupid huh? us younger hipper generation is a lot smarter in our thinking and our radio country music. we just go out and get a loan and buy a new Mcmansion, in a nice subdivided neighborhood outside of some progressive technology city, and then get an easy monthly payment for our new japan elexus SUV(its got heated brake pedals), and go out to eat. ya,we also are very down home country folks, cause we are tuned into the latest hits on that cool wolf howl country station every quarter hour. yep, were country. " gone country, look at them roots" A.J.

this moment of sarcasm brought to you by scott

you cant grow when you rip your roots out of the ground! think about it, socially engineered countryradiobot AQH listeners!!the next generation after you may even be ten times less informed and eventually cease to exist. yep, kinda like a good chunk of the pop production music on the charts disguised as country . at what point does our treasured American culture of country music just get disappeared by a scant few radio gatekeepers that socially engineer the trends and rotations, that feed the sheeple that graze on their plastic grass?

Re: Country DJ's

Anybody remember country Disc Jockey Arlen Vagen of WCKY and Walter Vale, who I think I heard on XERF. Any info appreciated.

Some of us in Country Radio have more to do than sit posting on internet boards.

That's not a dig, it's just fact.

For the record, our station produced a tribute to George and aired it thru the weekend including clips of several of his biggest hits. And the DJ's like myself, who got the chance to know the man talked it up on the air, and on our website and Facebook pages.

We also linked to the tribute online when it happened, and continued to talk about it for days later.
