George Lamond "Don't Stop Beleiving" Getting Support On Wild Mcallen

Not sure if I mentioned this but this is on Robbins now. Out on iTunes right now with the CD single to follow very shortly.

There is a "breakbeat" mix that was done by Giuseppe D on the CD.

They are getting ready to unleash the 3rd year of the sold out Freestyle concerts at MSG soon. Not sure of the date but I did see some bulletins floating around.

No video for this song.

I did a find a perfomance of this song at the Bergen Pac in New Jersey.

There should be an official promotional video of this song at least. Also, there is another remake of this song floating out there from a female vocalist. Though not to worry because it's just attrocious.And I mean that in the nicest way.

Anyone that has read any of my posts knows Im so pro-dance....and back in the day i hosted an all freestyle show on WDBK so I love George Lamond. Lets face it...this single is absolutley terrible. Steve Perry from Journey had such a distinctive and popular voice that anyone that would remake this song would be compared in a bad light. Not to mention dance needs fresh tracks like Ida Corr and David Guetta to be pushed on top 40 not another bad 80s remake...People often ask me why do dance artists keep remaking songs aren't they creative enough to make their own tracks bla bla bla. This is not a good track and i fear this could set back the momentum that dance is having on top 40 radio right now. If programers add it and it bombs,and it will, they will use the excuse "See dance doesn't work thoses last records were flukes". Just my opinion and I hate to be that way about anything dance but this is not a quality song.

This song is nauseating. Pulse 87 beat this song to it's premature death. I hope it's short lived. I like George Lamond but I gotta ask- What was he thinking??

The song is one of quality, as evidenced by it's tremdous appeal over the last 20 years. Your arguement would be that this is a "record" that you don't like, there is a difference. Just saying...

when one releases a tune, one has to be prepared for all sorts of lovely comments and non-support from the dance mavens,take it from one who knows;
it's the cost of doing business

Lalumia you have guts saying that considering you dog just about everyones comments about anything. The Journey version is sensational, a classic(J P ). George Lamond's version is a watered down lame remake. I've met George...he's great . This song however is not...I warn the dance community if top 40 radio adds this track IT WILL fail and take some of the momentum that dance is having away.

I understand there are people who dislike a remake of this song, but I really liked it when I heard him perform this one at a concert a few weeks ago in Springfield, MA. The crowd got into it, and it was a nice remake. Great Job by JP, George, and the staff at Robbins for taking a risk, and getting the feedback it needs.

In a GL related not, let's not forget there is another song by him which is on ADM Records which is worth giving a few spins as well, especially if you enjoy Freestyle.
