George Lopez Talk Show To Be Cancelled?

There is indication that George Lopez's talk show is about to get a pink slip.

Network executives are reportedly not happy with the mediocre ratings and feel that continuing the show is just a waste of money.

Just Googled George's name in the News section and all I get are reviews for the new "Marmaduke" movie in which he apparently stars.

As far as TBS is concerned, I thought he was all in with Conan coming on board. Perhaps it would be wise to wait until at least January to find out if George will be able to hold Conan's audience?

Or better yet, see if Conan has an audience.

I think your 'indication' is really just flatulence.

Can't see them having such a quick hook. At least give him some time to develop and fine-tune it
(as Conan had to do in his early days on NBC). Besides, what are they gonna do, put reruns of
Yes, Dear back in that time slot?

There's a lot of that goin around, apparently. Check our "skynet"s post re: Rich Field. Are "Voice" and "Skynet" the same person?

Lopez Tonight has to be one of the most boring talk shows on all of late night. His monologue barely consists of the daily headlines, and most of it sounds like the overused 'when i was a kid...' jokes from one of his comedy specials. His interviewing skills aren't up to par either and his comedy bits are poor imitations of Leno's bits like 'Jaywalking'. I'm not a fan of Conan at all, but I think I'd rather watch Conan than Lopez's borefest.

I'm the one who posted about Rich Field's (Price Is Right announcer) losing his job. I'm far from a troll. I have sources. You'll see in the coming days after it's announced.

Blind squirrel, acorn, etc etc. Lopez appeals to the hispanic/mexican demo, and what few enlightened (pardon the pun) white folks who sauntered over to see his talk show, soon find out he's not the same guy that appears on the cutesey sitcom he had for a few years.

Speaking of diverse, why is it that English speaking programming has Spanish subtititles...but Spanish speaking programming doesn't have English subtitles. My spanish is beyond rusty, and I realize there are dozens of variations on the language, but I'd like to see some English subtitles on Telemundo/Univision, etc. Like to know what I'm missing.

I questioned this Lopez thread and wanted a link because it seemed 'way out of left field'... especially with Conan coming aboard at tbs.

As for your Fields thread Skynet, I can believe it. Rumors of Fields departure have been swirling and 'Price' is in a 7 week production break... one of the longest in the show's history. I have no doubt Fremantle will make some changes to the show while Drew's off watching soccer overseas.

Maybe they ought to invent an EAP feed...

I will expect an apology from the so-called experts on here when Lopez's show is cancelled. As for my sources, they come from a colleague who works for the network. That's all I am going to say.

I'd like to see Telemundo/Univison run English on the SAP channel when they're showing an English language film dubbed into Spanish. Most of the pay channels run the Spanish dub on the SAP so why not do the same the other way, especially when the soundtrack is right there ready to be played? ??? :-X ;)
