George Mason-Dixon retiring

I was listening to WDUNN yesterday and I heard that George Mason-Dixon will be retiring today, ending a long and glorious radio career. Of course all of us old Y106'ers owe him a huge debt of gratitude because he helped launch one of the greatest radio staions in atlanta radio history.

He is going to take care of his new grand daughter,I know he will spoil her,I was listening to WDUN on Friday,Keith Conors called in,I don't know if Rhubarb Jones called in,I didn't get to hear the end of the show.

Nicest radio boss I ever worked for. He was also very helpful donating voicework to me when I went into business for myself. Just a terrific guy who still sounded great on WDUN. I've got a paycheck for him anytime if he wants to truck over from Suches.

Everyone I have ever talked to about George has said nothing but great things about him,I pray that I get a chance to meet him in person,I wish I could have worked for him,but I was only a kid when he was at Y.
