George Mooney

His Nashville station 1300 WMAK was the 40 station in the late 1960's early 1970's. WMAK had a lot of on great air talent: John Young, Coyote Mc Cloud, Scott Shannon, Dick Kent. I am sure I am leaving out some.

I was George's general manager at WUNO in San Juan, PR, in the very early 70's. He was a great boss, good friend and lovely person. I was proud to be part of the management team he recruited, including Jerry Adams, John Bomer, and Sam Trent and to have met folks like Joe Sullivan and Scott Shannon and Bob Baron and Alfred D. Herger on the programming side, too. I'm saddened by his passing.
