george noory to KIRO 97.3 FM

starting in JAN, coast to coast AM with george noory, going to KIRO FM.

what does this replace?

Namely Phil Hendrie (who will probably get shuffled to KTTH or whatever that new crap on 1590 is)

Now might be a good time for KKNW to come into it's own as a REAL talk station while the syndicated pickin's are still good......

Does Phil Hendrie really fit KTTH or the new 1590? Hendrie certainly isn't as conservative as those two stations. ???

just over 1 year ago, KVI dropped the high rated night time talk show, COAST TO COAST AM, like a hot potato. in favor of their new oldies music format.

one year later, it seems like a very foolish move. KVI has gone back to talk. coast to coast talk listeners would have been a good crowd you'd want to promo your new day time line up to. especially, when a good chunk of them would be wakin' up to KVI on the radio.

the coast to coast all night talk show could still have worked on KVI with the oldies music place holder. hindsight is 20/20.

I'm wondering why KVI took on the oldies format at all. Made little sense unless someone believed that oldies would never pop up on FM again. (doubtful). Very little gain for KVI, and now a big uphill battle to recover. Atleast they are now offering some alternative talk. Probably will do better than oldies on AM. The local shows will not gain much, IMO, just focus on alternative syndicated talk programming. IMO, Mark Christopher can't compete with what he is up against. Best of luck to KVI's local theme. It won't'work.
