George Segal (1934-2021)

Regular guest on Johnny Carson. Notable supporting role in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf”. I liked his starring role in “Fun With Dick and Jane”. Very talented actor.

Unfortunately since I don't watch a lot of TV, I never saw him in much outside of a handful of movies he played in during the 80s, and as @seatownmedia mentioned, his appearances on late night TV back then. Though I hadn't seen him in much in the past 30 years, memories of his movies still stick with me. RIP.

Horrible. RIP George. We will miss you dearly on The Goldbergs. Condolences to his family, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, Sean Giambrone, and the rest of the Goldbergs cast.

Oh, no. The show is based on the real life of Adam F. Goldberg (not Adam Goldberg, who I saw in a movie this past weekend). I've never heard if he had to deal with his grandfather's death but now it looks like they'll have to.

And I liked him a lot.

I finally remembered to check the most recent episode of his show and while I didn't take the time to watch it yet, He was shown at the end in a photo wearing a shirt that said "Pops".

I was a few weeks behind watching "Black-ish" and saw that his final "Goldbergs" episode would be on. Instead of the usual home movies from Adam F. Goldberg's real life, they ended with some highlights of Segal on the show. And with the credits they just showed what was coming up on another show instead of more of the episode.

It was my first time watching the show all season but it's a show I usually end up having to back up a lot for and it takes longer to watch. That didn't happen this time.
