This isn't exactly shocking news (it's been common knowledge among Trek afficionados for years now). What may be more stunning to many, is that Takei recently signed on as Howard Stern's announcer on his new Sirius satellite morning show, taking the place vacated a while back by John Melendez when he signed on as Jay Leno's announcer on the Tonight Show.
