Legendary Disc Jockey and Programmer George Wilson launched an Internet Radio Station on live365.com. about 11 months ago. Live 365 offers thousands of stations and many many categories of music .
(georgewilsonmemorytunes.com) The buzz on a national scale has been incredible, Claude Hall former music and radio editor of Billboard Magazine, recently called George Wilson a man of few peers in radio for over 50 years. After the first 11 months George Wilson Memory Tunes is ranked #465 (thousands of stations) with-in category he is currently ranked # 5 (over 200 stations). The many persons that worked for George over that fifty year span and are currenty Programmers and managers are raving about George Wilson Memory Tunes ,a format that seems to be disappearing fast, a numbers game that does not truly reflect who is really listening. I have come to realize the genius of George Wilson is his ablility to program music that the listeners just plain love, and his ability to find those wonderful musicians that he knows his listeners will love. Many many years ago George Wilson threw away the cook book, and every station that he has graced has been a winner. This amazing station that he has programmed (and continues to program every day) this may well be his "Last Hurrah" and its a dandy. I now know why George Wilson is so respected as a Programmer across the country, he has certainly taught me a lifetime of radio in 11 short months, thank you, George. As I sit here writing this message , I am hearing the wonderful Kay Starr and "Wheel Of Fortune", boy , Thank you again George this wonderful song. Ooohh here is Roy Orbison's great version of The Great Pretender (Only George would program this great song) I better sign-off so I can listen to this great Music. George don't be mad at me for posting this message , I just wanted to share your great work with these nice folks.
George Play "Roses Of Picardy" For Me..........That was Pal Al's Theme Song.
Don't forget to watch "John From Cincinnati" on HBO !!!
