George Zeller SW Columnist

I'm glad there was more information given out. Too often, the media likes to throw out a quick quote, then move on, with readers left to think "it was just some old nut".
I had a long-time friend die in a house fire. He had many hobbies and interests. He also had mobility problems due to a recent stroke. All the local media could focus on was "he was a hoarder". After his employer (Comcast Sports Network) broadcast a glowing tribute to him, people realized he was a very interesting and well-rounded guy.

I miss Monitoring Times and Popular Communications, had subscriptions to both on occasion and bought them at news/magazine/tobacco stores between subscription. I always found Zeller's pirate column interesting, although I only managed to hear a couple of the dozens of stations he'd write about or list every month.

You can still see Monitoring times at MONITORING TIMES: DX SWL and Utilities hobbyist maghazine
And Popular Communications at POPULAR COMMUNICATIONS: DX SWL and Utilities hobbyist maghazine
