Georgetown County and Charleston Radio Stations

Is it safe to say that some Charleston radio stations could be also be considered radio stations for Georgetown County and towns in the county such as Pawleys Island? Stations that I can get in clear enough are; B 92, z93 Jamz, 96.1 Chuck-FM, 96.9 The Wolf, Star 99.7. These two stations Y 102.5 and 103.5 WEZL can be heard but not that clear as the first five I said can. Also sure these stations don't area traffic reports for the area. But news and weather are close as they have some news from Georgetown county. And also on cable here we get channel 2, 4, and 5 from Charleston with all three showing news and weather for the Georgetown county. So could it be safe to say those five radio stations said be considered stations that serve the Georgetown county area too?

Georgetown is not part of the Charleston DMA, so if you seek improved coverage of Georgetown Co. news & events, don't look for it anytime soon.

Im not seeking improved coverage of Georgetown news and events. All I am say is that some of the Charleston stations are heard very well in the Georgetown County area. I know a local barber shop in PI that has 96.1 Chuck-FM and Pawleys is around 75 miles away from Charleston I believe.

Most of the stations you're talking about are on a really tall tower about 20 miles north east of Charleston. Since most of them are class C's mounted up high on the tower, they adequately cover all of Georgetown county. Basically, that signal is only 50-55 miles from Pawley's, so it's nearly a local signal.

It would be nice if some of those Charleston station put their towers a little more north then we could hear B 92 clear in Myrtle Beach. Yes we can hear B 92 clear in parts of Myrtle Beach but doing that would make it clearer. Just a thought.

Radio-locator needs to fix the search for Georgetown, SC. They don't have Hot 100.3, Z 93 Jamz, 95.1 SX, and Q 107.1. This as all of these stations can come in good around Georgetown, SC. Not so much Hot 100 but it comes in for you to be able to hear it.
