Georgia Te Ve

Is this spanish-language station still in business? When we lived in Atlanta, I enjoyed the channel for a couple months before we moved to Chattanooga. Today, I went to their website and it was gone. I went to the archived version to find the phone number for the station, and that number has been disconnected.

If it is no longer, what happened so soon? I thought this would be a success.

They were condemned to Comcast Digital Cable (150)...so it didn't last long.

They had a news partnership with WAGA to assist in local news production. Apparently...an association with the #2 station in town didn't help.

Channel 150 is now 24/7 leased access.

Sadly, they are gone. It really is a shame as they had a great product. They had a great selection of local programming especially made for the local Latino population. Their news broadcast, Fox 5 - GA TeVe Noticias, was really not half bad. It was 10x better than what Azteca America Atlanta puts out from their studios in Iowa.

La verdad es que they would have been better off as a LP, over-the-air station. Es una lastima...

Es una lastima indeed! I'm sad to learn about this. I got to know Rafael Ortiz-Guzman a little bit and he's a great guy. He invited me to stop by the station once where I met former Mexican Consul General Teodoro Maus during a taping of a show there. They had a nice set-up and Rafael knew what he was doing, from what I could tell. I remember part of the agreement with Comcast was that they could not be on any other system or Dish or Direct. When I asked Rafael about this, he said, "Ditch the dish!" But this was obviously not good for them. Mr. Ortiz-Guzman was so nice to me, I sort of felt part of the team, even though I wasn't. Muy triste...
