I finally got a chance to hear part of Geraldo's show on WABC this morning and, despite all the speculation about whether he could make a smooth transition into radio, I was pleasantly surprised -- he's doing fine!
Geraldo sounded calm and confident, not trying to be sensational or outrageous -- he has access to good guests and has plenty of interesting personal anecdotes at his disposal. His commercial delivery is smooth and credible (something the WABC sales department should exploit) and Noem Laydon is an asset to the show.
Again, just a first impression. Any comments from those who have heard more of the show? Is it a winner or a flash in the pan? Will it be syndicated and, if so, will that kill the buzz?
