Gerry V daily show?

Is there any truth to the rumor that Gerry V will have a daily radio show again soon? A few industry people I'm friendly with think it's only a matter of time. To add fuel to the fire, I saw him at an uptown restaurant during the Hornets playoff run with some radio suits.

As a market we limped through a great NBA playoff run with bad sports radio. It was great listening to V call the games on radio, but I was thirsting for more Hornets talk between games. We really didn't have a decent local option to talk serious and intelligent NBA hoops. Hopefully this meeting had something to do with a daily show. Any info is appreciated.

With the Hornets season having come to an end, it would make sense to get Gerry on the radio while he's on break from calling games. As people are now shifting their attention to the Saints, NBA draft, NBA free agency, baseball and other summer sports, it would be a good time for GV to start establishing a new show. What I liked about Gerry's show was his ability to talk all sports. Now would be a great time to do that. Thoughts?
 
Since you ask for thoughts, Gerry V is very weak as a sports talkshow host IMHO. Contrived bits, homerism, and a lack of people skills on the air turned me off from the get go. I have no interest in listening to him babble on about nothing.

Don't believe them, Gerry. You're a natural who acquired instant name recognition in this market. Your show is most entertaining and informative, and you have a huge following.

As far as little larry, you have to realize that, for his entire posting career on this forum, he's been nothing but a off-the-wall mammary on a bull and nobody takes his rants seriously, or even pays them any mind. He just gets cranky and arrogant when he runs out of Jack Daniels in quart size.

Your performance speaks for itself and you're a known and recognized personality in this market. Lil Larry's posts speak for themselves too, and make him look like an arse. When was the last time you heard of a radio personality named "Larry"? Oh, maybe Matson, and look at the stellar career he's had.

But lil larry has a right to post his stupid opinions.
 
Not sure what my opinion is worth but, not saying Gerry V is arrogant as we've never met, I haven't met anyone who had REAL talent that wasn't arrogant. Of course, there aren't many people in this market past or present who have REAL talent. Gerry V is a unique REAL talent, in my opinion.

I would welcome listening to Gerry V daily. In fact, for a little while I listened to him online when he was airing in OKC and talking about all subjects. Sports Talk Only would be a bonus.

Gerry, could you do us a favor though? Make sure you replace Castner & Wallensky or Osterlind? Mornings or Afternoons, it's your call. Please...
 
boy would that be greatif this were true but if so what station could put him on i mean unless 102.9 is in the offing or maybe 99.5 bumps rush out (highly unlikely) unless another station comes calling someone tell me where oh where could gerry v wind up and when it happens id be glad to see it happen
 
Gerry is a New Yorker. If you don't know New Yorkers they can be a little off putting, except they're some of the funniest people on earth, and warm way beyond their cold hearted appearance.

Gerry can do a great show every day, and I worked with him just long enough to appreciate his talent and dedication to professionalism.

The only advice I would give him is to get the fcuk off these boards and stop responding to people that don't like him. It's a losing proposition to engage in negative exchanges with detractors. He should focus on what he does, and do it well, because the best response to negative criticism is success.

It’s the people with REAL talent who are NOT arrogant. It’s those with FAKE talent who are arrogant.

You wanna talk arrogant...how the "Big Arrogant 870's" big three...Deake Belaveeah, Spob Mitchell and Little Tommy Tubber (seen him in action at Boomer's, thinks he's god gift to the ladies). Gerry V grows on you plus I enjoy his witt on the board and on his show. Give the guy a chance. You don't like his style, you can listen to the above three and seven hours of wasted airtime. Ahhhhhh....Thanks Pal!

I was wrong. If only we could clone Gerry V and have him on EVERY radio station 8 hours a day. Then we would all be better off. Or we would all commit suicide, one or the other
 
Lots of BS to sift through but no answer to the question. Is Gerry V's daily show coming back?

I do have to admit this. The drama here is certainly more entertaining than listening to 870. Let me give them credit though. Their addition by subtraction move was a positive move. Now get rid of the rest of them.
