Get Ready For The New Year Cutbacks

Come the first of the year our friendly radio and TV station owners are gonna find their wallets a little thin for 2006. The ad revenue for the Christmas season is way down, yet fat on their stations is way up from more lucrative times. 2006 is going to find a good number of familiar voices and faces out of the business for good.

In TV, Karen Swensen sees it coming...that's a major part of the reason she's moving to Boston. Good luck and best wishes to you Karen. We've been privileged to have you on TV here for all these years.

The bloodbath in radio will be much worse.

But then again, that may not be a bad thing considering the choices being offered.

Didn't Miss Karen do a commercial bit about rebuilding New Orleans, saying that she can't wait for New Orleans to return to normal?
And anyway, her husband is from N.O. and also is a high ranking official with NOPD.
From what she says about New Orleans, she's destined to stay here forever.
What was the change of heart for Miss Karen?
I've always liked her on the news and if she leaves, Channel Four will have to look very hard to fill her shoes.(that's two that channel four lost within five years: karen and Hoda Kotb)
What's next, Angela Hill moving to the big network?

Karen Carlson also left-for more money and Los Angeles. Good luck to Karen S. in her future endeavors!

Let's not forget John Gumm. I thought he was a great weather guy.

Okay, so in the radio 'bloodbath' who will dry off and who will turn the water red?
