I called bestbuy to see how much an HD raido for my explorer would cost.he said that he had 2 of them they costed about 2 houndred dollars.but I would have to get other stuff for the radio to listen in HD . my qusten is what would I have to get for it and how must does it cost.why cant you get radio's that come with everything you need for HD im thinking that it might be cheaper to just get XM so if anyone knows what else I would have to get and the price of it plese let me know. I asked the gut but he did not know.I dont know how he can sell radios with out knowing thing aboult them.

Hey Autopaint,

You are wasting an opportunity to sell this guy an "HD" radio. He is looking for information and not getting it! Here is your chance to spring into action...............

I would wait for the Radiosophy to be out soon. the Radiosophy HD Radiio has the ability to play HD radio at home and in the car. More info. check their website at http://www.radiosophy.com
I believe they are shipping this month. The cost is around $269.00 I believe.

Hey Jim, don't be a jerk. I own a Boston Acoustics HD Receptor and am happy with it. If you think I'm wrong may I suggest you don't buy one. Whether you like it or not IBOC is coming to US radio. We'll see what happens in the long term but let me state that even though I support the implementation of the IBOC system. I am not alone in those feelings, so please don't single me out. If you are serious tommy, let me suggest you check out the JVC site for a local dealer and ask about their 200$ car radio.

Settle down little man! Oh and grow up.

I saw your post about how anti IBOC are critisized. Time to look in the mirror. How about adding something CONSTRUCTIVE. Have not seen too many posts from you with real information.

I have an Expedition and I think that the opening is the same for the Exploder.

I have had a Panasonic, JVC and Kenwood.

The JVC is about $200 and you do NOT need anything more. Crutchfield is handy as well as Cardomain.com. There are many different locations that will get a unit to you in about a day or two.

Any other questions? I would be happy to field them.

How does it compare with a working Receptor? Is it more sensitive? I could always use another radio if you think this one is worth it.

I'm also interested knowing how sensitive the radio is...I know the Recepter requires a adopter FM antenna to receive HD stations, hows the reception with the Radiosophy for AM, FM, HD and HD 2 stations ?

OK please remember that I had about 20 minutes with the unit..... in an alley... behind NAB.

The Radiosophy unit has a built in metal "whip" antenna. It also has an external antenna input.

With the built in antenna I was able to pick up the Las Vegas FMs on Mt Potosi (about 40 miles away??) without any trouble. That being said there were a lot of transmitters being demoed in the building I was standing next to.

We tried AM but there was way too much garbage around to even get an analog signal.

I have a Radiosophy unit on the way. I also own a BA. I would say the Radiososphy unit is more sensitive. Plus it is a smaller unit and should have mounting backets for the car down the road (HA! a play on words there!).

Thanks for the review...I might decide to get the Radiosophy near Christmas with more postive reviews. Hopefully they will be carried in local stores for the holidays.

The problem here is that if you do that (what I have done), you will never get a Hoss Dorfmeister radio because you will never want to hear terrestrial radio again.
