Getting an extreme fringe tonight

I'm also hearing "Solid Gold Sunday Nights" on 95.9 right now... no station ID yet and can't figure out after doing a 600 mile radius search of 95.9 from my location.

**EDIT** It was bleed from WERF-LP. False alarm!!

I was just picking up 103.3/Brunswick on 95.7 coming in OVER WERF.

Very strange... If KMagrill sees this, he'll be able to explain.

Solid Gold Sunday Night originates at WFJV-LP near Crystal River. The stream is picked up off of a reciever at their morning DJ's house and streamed from there. I'm not quite sure why they don't stream from their studio. According to an e-mail sent out earlier tonight by WFJV, they had some antenna problems tonight resultting in a noisy signal with some unexpected fading. At some point, I also noticed it and dumped the show for about an hour until it faded back in.

He already pays for residential DSL and it's cheaper than subscribing to Commercial DSL for the station? Maybe DSL isn't available at the WFJV studios? I don't know anything about these stations but those obvious answers popped into my head while reading your post... Don't be getting the idea that I've pirated piggybacked my commercial DSL off my house, 100 feet away from my office, just to save $150 a month. ;)

Interesting, but I did hear 103Q (103.3/Brunswick) fighting it out with WERF last night. KMagrill, what is the scientific explanation?

Simple. WFJV is on 103.3. Because they had a weak signal yesterday, coincident with strong ducting, the receiver at the streaming location was swamped by 103Q, for a while. Thus, WERF, WITG and WRLE all ended up with 103q accidently on the air for a little while. The same thing can sometimes happen to FM translators.

As an aside, I think it's great these guys were able to put together an area "network" with WFJV, WERF, WRLE, and WITG. I worked with a few of the operators "back in the day." Knowledgeable guys who love radio and know what they're doing.

They even had their own stations back then if you knew where to look for 'em! ;)
