Getting local artist airplay

Hi. I'm not quite sure where this post should go but this seems like the right place. I do some programming for a station in the Boston area and I have a good friend (Kiley Evans) who is trying to make it in country music. She wrote her first song for a CMT songwriting contest last year that placed in the top 100 and her video was shown on the network. She just completed her 2nd song "Johnny Depp" a few weeks ago. We added Depp and due to overwhelming requests it’s now in fairly heavy rotation. I’m now trying to help her get noticed by other country stations.

My question is – how would I go about sending it to other stations across the country? I feel that it might get more attention if it comes from another radio station, rather than from an artist or manager. I’ve also thought about submitting it to PromoOnly.

It is a country track but also has an AC edge. We’re an AC station and it’s very popular here.

Would anyone have any ideas, suggestions or comments on how I can help her? She doesn't have a label or a CD, just individual files.

If you want to hear the track, check out www.reverbnation.com/KileyEvans.

Thanks!!!

@surprise - if you're involved with this show could you email me? - [email protected]. I'm working with someone in Boston that has national potential. Already getting regular airplay on several country/AC stations in the market.
