Getting Old

You know you are getting old when you hear, The Cars songs played on KLUV 98.7

I'm getting old hearing "Glory Days" on KLUV too.

You are really getting old when they don't play anything you recognize anymore.

Jay :'(

Or everything you recognize is only on KLUV-HD2!

Ya know, what idiot made the term "oldie" OK, anyway? Yeah, let's set out to offend listeners right off the bat with every oldie stations' imaging. You listen to "oldies"? Then you must be "old"!!

They could take a few cues from the auto industry..."gently listened," "pre-listened," "pre-played," "certified un-new songs," "Antique Hits," "(Re)new(ed) Music," etc. Guess that's why someone eventually came up with "classic _______".

what does this teletype function do, anyway?

I love their HD2! It's what's usually on in the background at home. I wish it had slightly more variety though! (Does Mr. Summers still read the board?)

I gave up on KLUV's morning show shortly after Jodie Dean took over. It's turned into a, what 4-hour (?), 'laugh-at-Jodie's-antics, no matter how stupid' yuk-a-thon.

Jodie tells a humourous story, and what seems like 400 people laugh.

Jodie tells a not-so-humorous story, and what seems like 400 people laugh louder and longer.

Jodie relates a close-to-off-color story and what seems like 400 people laugh even louder and even longer.

Jodie farts and . . . well, you get the idea. It's not my idea of listenable fare.

Now I have XM on all day going to and from, and at work.

DFW needs a 'good', 'true', oldies station. Oldies to me = 50's through late 70's.

Nahhh,

The 50's and 60's are too old for today's younger crowd. It's about time someone tried 70's & 80's, however.

Really? He doesn't seem the Howard Stern type. What's next...an appearance by the Kielbasa Queen?
