Even though we are an NPR station, KSKO thinks of itself more as community radio so I thought I'd share this story here
It’s not very often I see someone walking in McGrath that I don’t recognize that doesn’t know me.
I was walking to the store and when walking through downtown I said “Good Morning” to someone I didn’t recognize.
He said “Morning”….. paused in his steps and said “are you Paul Walker?”
I said “Yes” he replied “I’m visiting from Nikolai and recognized your voice because I listen all the time there. You do a good job”
Wow. That made my day. I am having an impact here and I got recognized by voice simply for saying two words!
(for those unaware, Nikolai is about 20 miles from McGrath and one of the villages KSKO has an FM repeater in so we can serve that village)
