Getting Text/SMS messages from listeners, at the studio?

Does anyone know of a solution where Text/SMS messages can be recieved on a PC at the studio? Or maybe even into email or other accessible database/web location?

Would like to be able to get requests, comments, and instant feedback on the song playing.

Thanks.

There were a couple providers that used to advertise on R & R's web site. I can't remember any of them. Show's how effective that advertising was.

Technically, it's really easy. All you need is an SMS client and any back-end software to drive your database applications. But the real issue that we saw when we looked at SMS was the $$. Getting your own SMS number is very expensive in the order of thousands a month. If you go with a provider, they want to keep all the caller fees for themselves. To us, unless we were getting a slice of that, it makes no sense to promote someone else's business for free.

If you use AIM you can do that.....

Have them text your AIM name and it should pop up (Sending to Cell phones from AIM works wonderfully :))

Good luck!

Our company was one that advertised with R&R that apparently didn't stick with the readers. This is what we do. In an effort to not self-promote, I'll ask that you contact us directly.
