I have been listening to the exhibition games on 680 and they seem to have small dropouts all through the games. Not long, maybe a half second. It isn't the transmitter just a beat where the stadium noise is even gone. Not pauses by Jon Miller or Dwane Kuiper because it happens while they are talking and sometimes it is in the middle of a word..
Have they changed something with the way they deliver the announcers to the station?
 
I'd guess they're using some internet-based transport, such as the Comrex Access or Telos Zephyr/IP without enough buffering to cover the jitter they're getting.

Don't know how much they make for Exhibition games but they probably don't want to spend too much on them, such as for an ISDN data call for the whole game.
