Gilbert Baez of WRAL-TV moves to WFNC

A good hire. Baez has been in the air in the area for decades and is well-known. I'm surprised WFNC would make such a good choice, or can afford it.

I found it odd how the News & Observer article stated that WRAL chose not to renew Baez's contract. I always assumed it was a mutual decision, did WRAL really let him go?

Interestingly the WFNC press release noted that he will be remaining at WRAL-TV, which certainly does not appear to be the case.
