Gimme a Click on the Stick

The number for a number is...

The anytime request line, open 24 hours a day...

Give me a ring on the ting-a-ling...

Your favorite song is only a call away...

We've heard them all...or so I'd thought. I was just listening to Scott Shannon on True Oldies. He gave out the request number and said, "That's the direct line to my behind."

Who said nothing's new in radio?

Scott Shannon (along with others) have been using that line since dirt!

I remember him using at z100 in New York in it's hey-day.

And probably even more ironic since he probably hasn't actually played a listeners request in 25 years. Especially not on a voice-tracked satellite channel.

Hell, has anyone? Haven't all stations been on scheduled music since the early-mid 80's?
