Given a really large antenna, what is best TV reception range in London ON?

London is about 100 to 120 miles (as the crow flies) from the closest major US cities (Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo) and about 80 miles from Erie.

Given the use of some of the largest available UHF and VHF antennas (10 to 12 foot booms, 6 foot yagi, etc) and given appropriate antenna-mounted amplifiers, does anyone know if it's possible to receive (over-the-air) any US digital channels in London?

I know that on analog, Lakeshore areas of Cleveland could get CFPL-10 back in the day..Now, however, I can tell you you wont get 19 (digital 10) precisely because of CFPL..Channels 63 and 64 are analog translators for WVIZ-25 (digital 26) You wont get them at all..and 53 is Low Power and you wont get that channel either. You might be able to get a few of the others but I cant say for sure..

A poster on Digitalhome.ca who lives on Sunningdale Road in the north end of London has reported receiving KDKA from Pittsburgh in digital, in addition to WEWS and WKYC Cleveland, and several Detroit stations using a big antenna. He even had screenshots of what he got. Someone else reported getting WMAQ from Chicago, although this may have been closer to Windsor.

Of course, this kind of reception depends on conditions.

It depends.

To receive (some of) those channels when conditions are "up" (such as on summer nights), a larger outdoor antenna might be all you need - even rabbit ears when atmospheric propagation is REALLY good.  However, to receive them reliably, day in and day out, I would recommend a 7-foot parabolic or larger (looks like a big satellite dish) mounted on a rotator 30+ meters above ground level.  However, even that might not be enough.
