Glen Beck//Central Pennsylvania

Mr. Beck has recently been dropped by two major affiliates in Philly and Noo Yawk. How strong are his ratings on WHP and WSBA?
Central Pa. is very conservative (The land of Palin), so I am assuming that he does extremely well, however, if his numbers are dropping is there a chance that we will hear another voice or viewpoint??

Beck is awful. But he's not going anywhere. Sure, the demographics are changing in Central PA. More minorities and becoming more liberal in general (Dauphin county went to Obama and the others came relatively close -- except Perry of course) but it's still generally Republican land around here. I think a liberal talker on WKBO, WWII or one of the other smaller AMs in the area might bill enough to keep afloat, but I'm not holding my breath for anybody to try it. WHYL tried Ed Schultz, but I'm assuming he failed as they dropped him to go Adult Standards. They do have a liberal talk show on the weekends I caught while in town the other day that didn't sound half bad.

Actually Beck is pretty awesome. Liberal talk would fail miserably because talent like Ed Sgt Schultz, Bill Press, Randy Rhodes, and Alan Colmes isn't all that compelling to listen to.

Local radio begs for shows like Beck, Boortz, Hannity and Rush because they're ratings winners. Liberal talk stations are funded by others and basically have to beg to be put on radio - the former Air America comes to mind. Beck will not be leaving the local radiowaves any time soon.

P.S. - Is Boortz on locally at all? Used to catch him when I lived in Pittsburgh.

I've heard the show on the air on WLBR in Lebanon after 6PM.

Glenn Beck is on 670/WIEZ daily from 9AM to noon. With 5-kw on 670, non-directional, you can basically hear it (in-car reception) from the New York border to the Maryland border... if The Beckster is your cup of Tea. Yeah, followed by Rush.
