Glenn Beck Reveals Serious Health Problems

On TheBlaze this evening, Glenn Beck revealed he has been battling a serious neurological illness that even the best medical professionals couldn’t quite diagnose. Beck says doctors told him he had 5-10 years, after which he would not be able to function. He started having seizures.

“My hands, feet, arms and legs feel like someone had just crushed them, or pushed broken glass into my feet,” Beck says about the intense bouts of pain. “The doctors tell me I haven’t had REM sleep in as much as a decade.”

Me, for one.

Me for two. It does explain a lot. I would like to say that I'm a bigger person than to "celebrate" a serious illness of any person, but I'm as susceptible to 'schadenfreude' as the next person when it comes to self-righteous, opportunistic, and generally vile human beings like Beck.

I won't celebrate or say I'm glad this means the end of what he does. It just wouldn't be right.

At the same time, I've had a negative opinion of him ever since I found out through this site that WMXF Asheville NC dropped my kind of music and I confirmed it by going to their web site and seeing his name as the person on the air. I had never heard of him but I knew he wasn't a DJ.

And now when I go to the mountains I cannot count on hearing any music I like just by turning on the radio.

Likewise, I don't wish him death, or even pain and suffering. He's just a talk host and commentator whose views I disagree with, not a mass murderer or serial rapist. I remember him from his WELI New Haven days. Was that his first full-time talk radio gig?

Beck started as a DJ, just like Rush Limbaugh. They both developed a political persuasion, a persona, and an 'act', if you will, that they could ride to success on right-wing talk radio. I'm not saying they don't believe what they are saying - I'll give them the benefit of the doubt - but in Beck's case, there's a lot of crazy mixed in.
