Glenn Beck SUCKS live.....Tthe WORST live show I ever went to

He is a legend in his own mind. Not funny. Not captivating. Totally ripping off his audience and any curious folk.
I only had the $49 tix.
The only thing I am happy about is that I didnt spend $94 or join the "inner circle"

Anyone else think the same?

Not funny.
Actually pretty stupid.
I felt totally ripped off.

I was expecting something in between the radio show and the TV show....but it was worse than I ever imagined.

What the heck is Philly thinking?

Come on now! Who wouldn't strive to emulate Glenn Beck?

Nobody will disagree with you in the most liberal market next to NYC. The city is so liberal that they can't even find a Republican candidate for Mayor. But, as a radical moderate Liberterian I agree that Glenn Beck Sucks! He's a big Republican neo-con apologist wind bag!

Ron Paul 2008!

What is this fascination with the "neo-con" label? Beck is not a "neo-con", though he is a conservative. The "neo-cons" are actually a very small and specific group of *inside beltway* people who were once Democrats and have become conservatives in the last 2 decades (hence, neo - or new - conservatives). The lore also says that those folks are Jewish, but I don't know that this is true. They certainly are pro-Israel.

When people (usually liberals) toss this label out there, they are almost always incorrect. Like adding "ultra" to conservative for those who are simply conservative. Oddly enough, you never hear of this label being added to those on the far left - like Danny Glover, Rosie O'Donnell or Al Franken. Never are they called "ultra liberals". I just find it interesting.

And, you're right about the City of Philadelphia's political leanings. However, the suburbs are much more moderate and - overall - the market is more centrist than markets such as New York, Washington, San Francisco or Boston. Which is a reason why WPHT does relatively well here.

Anyhow, I think that Beck puts on a fairly unique and entertaining radio show and would be really surprised if his live performance was 'horrible'.

The show did suck.
It was his version of "stand-up comedy"
Remember Cosby's fatherhood?

Now THAT was funny.
or Ken Davis?

Mark Russel is funny when it comes to political humor
Colbert is funny...all by himself...without writers
John Stewart is funny
Glenn Beck is not funny.
You have to REALLY like him to enjoy the show.
I like to listen and to watch the tv show...but honestly...the live show tanked.
Maybe he is considered "edgy" for ultras or mormons, but for the average comedy fan...NOPE.

What about Savage? Any members of the Savage Nation? Some stuff he says I agree with and other stuff is he says is ridiculous. But he's quite entertaining!

Savage is good.
I could never handle a steady diet of him, but he is interesting.
Grumpy-guy talk radio gets old after a while.
I used have to take a break from Evil Irv just to "cleanse my palette"...then I could go back and enjoy.
Savage is a car wreck. I slow down enough to look and gawk...I just cant plant myself on him on a regular basis.
But he is good.

Guys like Savage, O'Reilly, and Hannity are all in the same boat with the theory that bad publicity is better than no publicity. They are showmen first, and journalists second. You can count me into the crowd that listens just to satisfy my curiosity and disbelief about their shows and listeners.

I like Savage too - at times, very much. But, as said by early2rise, I too need to take a break from time to time. A steady diet of Savage can get too heavy sometimes.

But, what I really appreciate about his show is that you never really know where he's going to land on an issue - or at least how he'll attack it! An equal opportunity offender. He also has no qualms about saying un-PC things, which I find refreshing. Hey, he's an entertainer and he generally does a good job of it. Much like coast to coast am, you need to keep your wits about you when listening.

Too bad Savage isn't carried in this market - I need to strain to hear him on WOR or WGY. He's far better than the bush league stuff featured in the evening on "the Big Talker".

Since this has basically turned into a "Beck v. Savage" thread, it's interesting to note that in Seattle, Beck on tape delay has bumped live Savage from 3-6 PM on KTTH. Effective next week.
