Glenn Beck will form a network with local Blaze Affiliates

http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/netgnomes/84767/glenn-beck-to-blaze-into-local-markets/

Philadelphia is one of the markets that will have the Blaze Affiliation. Umm? I like to know how this will be different from Rush Radio that some markets had a few years ago?

There are a lot of zero-audience low power AM stations that are just dying for programming. The major syndicators demand certain standards for affiliates. This probably won't have such requirements. Just a market clear is good enough.

As unhinged as Glenn Beck is, let me guess what it will sound like:

- Conspiracy theories about President Obama at the top and bottom of every hour.
- Petulant bawling.
- Screaming like a demon in a holy water shower when confronted with an opposing opinion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOuQcpENH74

I can hardly wait.....

:D Beck is just a puppet for Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin. But Wow I hope somebody in mental health check the brains of the 3 insane people running the Tea Party. I like to know what brain damage they have also these people are supposed to be the heirs of Rush Limbaugh once he's out of the picture. Pacifica Broadcasting of the right anybody??? Even the Koch Brothers are smart enough to donate to PRI O&O in Boston and distributer of PBS Shows WGBH. Even The Koch Brothers are brilliant in sponsoring NOVA. Well The Kochs have to lure the center, moderate, objective at some point once they find out the Tea Party falls apart.

Good job! You hit everything on the talking point checklist!

It will probably be an upgrade from some of the third and fourth tier conservative hosts.

To quote radioinsight.com:

"TheBlaze.com/Philly will add local news, traffic, and weather reports to the national talk stream. News and weather will air twice and hour and traffic reports four times an hour. The specially programmed Philadelphia stream will also be heard on IHeartRadio."

So why are we talking about affiliates and PPMs? Isn't this just Beck adding another Internet stream with local content?

The Reason here is because the Article said about WWIQ-fm will preview the Blaze Content. thats where the PPM comes into play.

I find it funny that he is always preaching about the end of the world and how America is toast, and all that blah, but he keeps building and planning?

cough.....huckster...cough...

But according to the article, "... the station will preview The Blaze network content until the sale of the station to EMF closes around November 1," -- and Beck's Philly stream begins November 4th.

In any case it will be a short preview -- hardly worth the ink being used in this thread.

Judging by the website, it looks like the Blaze shows that have been playing on the stream when Beck isn't live will be the rest of the programming for the 6a-6p hours on the station.

Or....is this going to be the stream independent of the station? It's quite confusing.

It doesn't look to me like the station isn't involved at all, other than for the "preview" -- if there's time before it changes hands.

I actually think the idea of custom Internet streams for different markets is an interesting one, both from a listener and an advertising perspective. If Beck could offer a full daily schedule of programming he'd really have something, but this is a start. The concept might eventually replace the AM radio affiliate system.

Wadio you are correct beck is moving to app/web only show. Its like Howard Stern 10 years ago he moved from FM Radio to SiriusXM. Its that Radioinsight made it look like 106.9 WWIQ would run with his show under different owners. this article showed it.

Of course this should read, "It doesn't look to me like the station is involved at all," or, "It looks to me like the station isn't involved at all." I wish we had a little more time to edit our posts.

How many hours is he up to on theblaze. com? I've heard him mention several other host's shows and what they were going to talk about on them, how hard it was for his co-hosts to do the additional shows, etc. several times. And I only listen like once every couple weeks.

It definitely sounds like "the new frontier" of distribution.
