Glenn Walker Heads to KTLA

Glenn Walker was formally introduced by Cher Calvin on the KTLA Saturday evening newscast. Not sure what his schedule will be but, so far, it has been weekends.

KCBS/KCAL's loss is KTLA's gain. I've always found Mr. Walker to be a capable reporter and co-anchor.

Glenn Walker now and 2 weeks ago Steve Hartman. KTLA is shoring up news talent directly from the duopoly to their benefit.
Anyone want to bet KTLA goes news from 3-4pm to fill the soon to be missing Tyra Banks Show?

Either that, or some of the dead wood stalwarts at KTLA better read up on their exit clauses.

Hartman is going to take over the sports detail on KTLA News @ 10 weekdays. Book it.

It's almost like watching a baseball team trading players. "I'll trade you Dave Mecham and Wendy Burch for Glenn Walker." KTLA recently signed on Dave Malkoff, late of KCBS/KCAL.

Actually with Tribune owning the Los Angeles Times as well as KTLA they could become a formidable news outlet. It's a combination I don't think they have adequately exploited yet. At a time when critics are saying that only seniors watch television news, it's interesting to see KTLA actually bulking up their news department with more staff.

However, I do wish they would add more national and international news to their newscast at 10. Frankly, I'd gladly trade another "shooting in Pacoima" story for some national news.

Look at KTLA's recent reports on the Bell City Budget Scandal this station is leading all the LA Stations to lean away from Celeb fluff to real news for once.
